Jojoba essential oil is almost odourless, having a faint nutty fragrance. An indulgent oil that protects skin from the elements and gives your hair a lustrous shine. Jojoba oil is particularly good for oily skin, balancing out the skin’s natural oil production.
Little known fact: Jojoba oil is mainly used as a replacement for whale oil
Why should I use Jojoba oil?
Unlike most essential oils, Jojoba oil resembles sebum (our skin’s natural oil) so it is readily accepted by the skin and acts as a natural skin conditioner, creating an effective barrier against harsh external environments. Jojoba essential oil contains vitamin B complex, which helps reduce and delay the signs of ageing by smoothing fine lines and wrinkles. This vitamin E rich oil can calm sunburn, eradicate scars and heal wounds.
What is Jojoba oil?
The seeds of the Jojoba plant Simmondsia chinensis are cold pressed to extract Jojoba essential oil. The oil has an exceptionally long shelf-life, making it a great choice if you’re new to essential oils.
Anything to note?
Do not consume Jojoba oil. Store all essential oils in a cool, dark place and keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes and other sensitive areas. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using any essential oils.
