What does Neroli essential oil smell like?

Where does Neroli essential oil originate from?
Neroli oil is produced from the blossom of the Citrus aurantium bitter orange tree. The blossoms are very delicate are distilled immediately after they are harvested, so that the oil can be produced before the blossoms decay. The bitter orange tree is native to southeast Asia, but has been introduced in many other regions across the globe.
Little known fact: It takes 100 kilograms of the blossom to produce 1 kilogram of oil, which is why the cost of pure Neroli oil is quite high when compared to other essential oils.

How to use Neroli essential oil
There are many reasons as to why you may have a low sex drive, including illness, stress and hormonal imbalances, but the good news is that certain essential oils can be used as a natural way of increasing your libido.
Once you experience the luxurious, floral and citrus fragrance, you will instantly recognise why Neroli is said to be an aphrodisiac. Mix a few drops of Neroli essential oil with a teaspoon of carrier oil for a sensual massage. Inhalation will help bring a sense of calmness, which reduces stress levels, blood pressure and menopausal symptoms, leaving you free to focus on other stress-relieving activities!
Combine a few drops of Neroli oil with 2-3 drops of a citrus essential oil such as Lemon, Lemongrass or Orange and use in a burner or oil diffuser. The uplifting and calming scent can improve a low mood and ward off worrisome feelings. If you have a headache make a warm compress using a flannel with a few drops of Neroli infused into it. Place onto your forehead and leave until cool for a natural relief from pain and tension.

Neroli Oil Night Renewal Serum
Luxurious skin serums don’t have to cost a fortune, some of the simplest serums have the fewest ingredients, leaving out potentially harmful chemicals in place of natural ingredients. This serum blend is one of our personal favourites, helping to banish blemishes, aid the appearance of scarring, while soothing, tightening and rejuvenating even the most tired of skin. The Sea Buckthorn will also help with sun damage and hyperpigmentation, dermatitis and eczema.
To make your own serum, add the oils to a small bottle and roll between your hands to thoroughly blend before adding the coconut oil. Once blend is complete, store in a dark glass jar in a cool, dark place. Use the serum on a night, after your regular skin care regime. Always cleanse and tone thoroughly before applying serums.
- 1 oz coconut oil
- 1 tsp Sea Buckthorn oil
- 3 drops Neroli
- 3 drops Clary Sage
Nourishing Neroli Hand Cream
Hard working hands can become dry, sore and chapped. Give them a helping hand with this nourishing Neroli oil cream. Frankincense and Neroli tighten the skin, stopping cracked skin from becoming further damaged. Cocoa butter and coconut oil soothe and moisturize dry skin leaving your hands feeling soft, and smelling divine.
The ingredients can be found online and in most health stores. To create your own hand cream mix the oils together first, before blending with the Cocoa butter, Coconut oil and vegetable glycerin. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place, and apply to your skin whenever needed.
- 1/2 oz Cocoa butter
- 1.5 oz Coconut oil
- 1 tbsp Vegetable glycerin
- 4 drops Neroli
- 4 drops Frankincense

Anything to note
Neroli oil is considered safe and non toxic, however it shouldn’t be ingested and should always be diluted with a carrier oil before use. As it is expensive it can be prudent to mix this oil with a cheaper oil to make it go a little further. Pregnant and breastfeeding women, and children should avoid using Neroli oil. Store in a cool, dark place and keep out of reach of children.
